The Foundation's All Volunteer Board
More than 92 cents of each dollar spent by the Foundation goes directly to benefit Village residents, since the day-to-day operations of The Foundation are provided by an all-volunteer board. It is their time and expertise that helps The Foundation meet its goal of providing temporary financial assistance to Village residents. The Board members have diverse backgrounds and extensive experience in many fields:
Alison Bok, BS and advanced certifications in banking, insurance and financial regulatory sectors. Financial services and organizational management. Past president of the boards of LWV United Mutual and Golden Rain Foundation. Forty-plus years of national and international experience with both the public and not-for-profit corporations and organizations.
Molly Byock, BS in elementary education and MA in Special Education; 9 yrs of teaching; Retirement Workshop Leader & Consultant for Corporations; 24yr career with Toyota Motor Sales, USA Inc, - Customer Relations and Training & Development; 22 yr volunteer with Providence TrinityCare Hospice.
Christine Collins, MA in Teaching as a Profession, MA in School Administration. - Career educator and a retired elementary school principal; currently active in the League of Women Voters.
Debra David, Ph.D. - Sociologist; retired professor of gerontology and director of academic and community service programs.
Margot Gilison, Vice President/Finance - experience in advertising, and financial and estate planning.
Joel Goldstein, Ph.D., Vice President/General Services and Information Systems - Social psychologist, retired professor and executive with several US Public Health Service agencies.
Anne Llewellyn, Secretary - MBA, UCLA; nonprofit executive with experience in association management, fundraising and marketing, education, and community engagement.
Jerry Ludlum - BA in Business Administration. Accountant with Federal Government for 37 years. Currently on the Board of the Chinese American Club of Laguna Woods.
Ilene Munzinger - BA in Music Education, MA in Leadership in Human Services Administration. Taught junior high music, was the Principal of a Temple Religious School program, has been a volunteer/board member with the Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach for the last 20 years.
Sharon Phillips, MA - Marriage and Family Therapy; 50 years of analytical, financial, technical, managerial, ministerial, executive director/board and volunteer work experiences in the private, corporate, public, governmental, non-profit and community sectors; 31 of those years and currently a small business Owner/Director/Chief Financial Officer.
Gael Post, MSW, LCSW-C - Licensed clinical social worker.
Marcy Sheinwold, J.D., President - Retired attorney who was a partner in a New York law firm and law school instructor.
Candace Tysdal - Over 30 years of experience as a finance professional in both private, public sectors. A lifelong volunteer for organizations addressing a wide range of social and cultural needs. Currently a Board Member for VMS and Community Concerts of Laguna Woods Village.
Beth Perak, Ph.D., Ex Officio - Administrative experience in education, and an Associate Professor at Azusa Pacific University.
